My mother finally made the switch
I was talking to her last night. I was a little worried about her vote. She was a Hillary fan, and after Obama got the nomination, she wasn't sure about Obama for the usual reasons, youth and experience. She has been a democrat all her life, but she was remembering McCain before he sold his soul to the devil. Ever since then, I have been working on her. Not outright challenging, but making my points along the way. Last night, she finally brought it up, and said she couldn't ever vote for McCain after he chose Palin.

Success!!

Good VP choice McSame. LOL

My Mom is 78 years old and is a physical therapist who still works part time with special ed kids. She is working because she wants to, not because she needs to.

My conclusion is that McCain campaigned very effectively - for Obama

Go MOM, you rock.

1. You are a lucky bird!
If McCain 'wins' I will not be able to be around my mom for four years. Give your mom a huge hug for me! Peace, Kim

2. Thanks, I will
I love my Mom. I thought that probably whe would end up voting dem, and I knew better than to push hard. I just had to gently push whatever issue was going on at the moment and mention how John McCain was wrong about it. And it worked.

5. I applaud you both!
We try from time to time. My mom is a FAUX addict and it is pretty hard to be gentle. I will try harder. Peace, Kim

4. That's excellent news!
But alas, my mom will not follow suit. :(

She even called me the day after Palin was nominated and asked if I was going to vote republican because Palin was "a woman's libber" and "loved guns" ... JUST LIKE ME?!? I informed my mom that Palin is NOT for women's rights but yes, we both love firearms. That one fact would not make me switch my vote. :eyes:

There's no reaching my mother but thank goodness there are other "moms" who are open to a reasoned argument.

Kudos to both you and your mother. :grouphug:

7. Maryland
So I don't know that it is all that important. But it still makes me happy that she is voting the correct way.
