Is there a bigger douchebag anchor than Rick Sanchez on CNN?
The guy just can't insert himself enough into the story, can he? Everything revolves around him, and his waving arms and his over-the-top reactions and concerns. He talks to his viewers as if he's the only person on the air anywhere in the United States, and that he'll stay there to bring them the news they need to know, no matter how much peril he may encounter. And all that Twitter stuff, with the self-serving postings of his adoring fans?

:puke:

17. He started at a tiny local in rural Minnesota. He scrubbed that fact from his resume.
I used to work at the same station.

There's just too many potential punchlines in that scenario.

3. He likes to be the center of the story so much that he tased himself.
I wish he'd tase himself more often.

8. Hey...I'm glad he did the report...but so what?
It's the least a cable news anchor can do, isn't it? A report about the true facts surrounding Todd and Sarah and the AIP?

Sanchez' presentation of himself on-air is what gets on my nerves.

9. You should know by now that it's not the least a cable news anchor can do.
How many other anchors reported on AIP? Only Olbermann and Maddow, so far I can can recall. He provided a valuable service in getting pertinent information out to viewers who were being inundated with reports on Ayers by every other broadcast, especially on CNN.

I think he deserves to be cut a little slack for a bit because of this, but you're absolutely free to have your own opinion, as am I.

21. EXACTLY !! So many corporate media reporters tow the line all the time.
I am very glad he did the AIP story.

Our corporate media is conservative owned. We used to have 50 diverse companies in the early 80's and now we have FIVE conglomerates in conservative hands. Big difference.

18. Bill Bonds, formerly anchor of Detroit's Channel 7, is the all-time douchebag winner
Numerous drunk driving arrests. After Cedarfest at MSU one year had gotten a little out of hand, he suggested to then Gov. Blanchard that he call out the National Guard next time the drunken state students decided to set couches on fire. He challenged Mayor Young to a boxing match. He named Mayor Young "father of the year" after a hilarious paternity suit proved the almost 80 year old mayor to be the father of a 6 year old (who is now serving in the Michigan House). This happened shortly after Billy's own daughter died in a drunk driving accident.

After 9-11, Billy did an ad for Gardner-White Furniture that was so offensive to arabs, it only aired once.

20. Oh goody, you can see him again . . .
As part of its 60th celebration, WXYZ-TV, will air "The Best of Kelly & Company" with John Kelly & Marilyn Turner looking back at some of their favorite moments from their 17 year show. The special will air 10:00am to 11:00am.

Be sure to stay tuned! After 30 years, Bill Bonds, John Kelly & Marilyn Turner will make television history when they reunite on the anchor desk for a special edition of Action News 7pm. Bonds and Kelly will anchor the news, Marilyn will be reporting the weather just like they did in the 1970s.

Then keep it on WXYZ for a prime time special "From the Heart: 60th Anniversary Special." Anchor Erik Smith takes a look at the rich history of Detroit's premiere television station. The one hour prime time special will also focus on how Channel 7 is taking the lead in the new age of digital technology.
