1. A man who
ordered the deaths of priests and nuns and children from the oval office in the white house could not possibly give a fuck about the crimes of today's republican party. The Time Picture tears are as fake as the alleged integrity and morality of the grand old party and its christian base.

4. Good point. If Reagan were alive and healthy, he wouldn't object...
...to the destruction of human rights under George W. Bush.

Reagan did his own part to destroy human rights in Latin America.

11. Thats very kind of you My Dear
Our government needs a good purging of the taint and criminality of conservatism; like the cajuns in Louisiana purge crawfish before they boil them alive.

2. Even though I met the Faux Native American celebrity as a kid
I still gotta go with Chilly Willy, although I think you're actually referring to the sad little penguin that was in a Bugs Bunny short. Don't remember Chilly crying all that much.

Iron Eyes Cody cries again, beseeching us to keep America Beautiful. Corruption hurts all of us, he would say. Republicans start corruption. Democrats can stop it.

10. I have no sympathy for Indians. Well at least Cherokees.
Since they decided to vote the Freedmen out of the tribe because of race, I have no sympathy for them whatsoever.

19. Well, my post wasn't really about Indians, per se
...just a liked the modern twist to an old ad campaign. But if you want to vent about Indians, well then...

23. =) Yeah I know, sorry.
I was just venting. I'm Cherokee and voted against removing the Freemen from the tribe, but I was in the vast minority on that vote.

I don't know what the tribe was thinking, we had an agreement that the slaves the tribe owned and their descendants would remain part of the tribe. Apparently that agreement is now null and void.

9. Reagan the corporate pimp!
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 01:44 PM by GreenTea
ask any republican to name one thing, just one thing, Reagan did for the workers and the middle class of America...Corporate whore Reagan did nothing, zero, zilch!

All the republicans ever say is oh, uh, the Soviet Union went down...which of course is complete bullshit...the USSR threw in the towel years after Reagan was long gone (1991)...Reagan didn't do anything more or less than any other president simply by increasing the Pentagon's budget....But Reagan start this whole union busting, corporate deregulation, corporate good, government bad bullshit...So the republican fascist imperialist try to present the nutcase Reagan as a god...The republicans have nothing else but lies, greed and corruption as a major political party as it is again being proved with Bushco.

22. Deceptive practice, imo
But perhaps no more deceptive than their print reporting.

More on this topic:
After a scandal in the Spanish press, the online publication covering the media industry, Periodistas Digital, notes that the number of incidents of photographers manipulating their images with Photoshop software has been rising. In response to the same occurrence El Pais wonders how many tampered with photos are actually caught by editors and how newspapers and agencies can bring a halt to such practices.

Because of the quality of the technology, El Pais is certain that many images are enhanced and not caught by the filters. Periodistas echoes that sentiment writing that nowadays, photographers are usually skilled in using Photoshop which produces results undetectable in print, snidely holding those that have been caught guilty of ineptitude with the simple software.

Still, the Periodistas article finds that some photos may seem to have been toyed with but in reality appear strange for various reasons at the time the shutter snapped as happened recently with a New York Times photo.

The Periodistas article also points to a recent Reuters photo that was quickly found to have been Photoshopped. The writer happily agrees with the management's decision in both cases to fire the photographers. After all, asks the columnist, wouldn't the same thing happen to a journalist whose articles were found to be distorting information?

Sources: Periodistas Digital, El Pais (both in Spanish)
