HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PRESIDENT JAMES MADISON
Adds a nice touch to the day, we can celebrate the birthday of the champion of checks and balances and one of the fathers of our constitution; that nasty document conservatives have so much trouble with.

born 16 March 1751 in Virginia.

2. Yes, a birthday tribute to my fellow Virginian and a great man..
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 12:07 PM by Virginia Dare
he was a true gift to our democracy, and thanks to the Virginians who had the foresight to elect him as their representative, without whom we would probably have never had the Bill of Rights, at least not in it's original form.

Thanks BOSSHOG!

4. My distant cousin ... the family has gone downhill ever since
Kinda like the country.

But happy birthday, cous ... I'm sure your spirit is crouching in some corner of the White House,
trying to figure out how that tall chimp got loose in the Oval Office.
