1. Somehow, I don't see that skit helping McCain/Palin in the voting booth. These people

(that is the McCain/Palin people) don't seem to have any sense of nuance at all!

My husband and I went to "W" last night, but we were kind of excited about
Palin being on SNL. We expected something really funny and I thought she
would do well.

However, this skit----gee, how do I say this--is not flattering to her at all.
It makes her look dumb.

If Biden or McCain were sitting there doing that little dance, it would be
funny--because they are very serious people and they have earned their places
at the top. Dancing to a hip-hop song would be funny--BECAUSE when an authentic
war hero or serious person--doesn't act serious--there's where the comedy is.

Palin has no stature in that way . In fact, she has a reputation for saying really stupid
things and for being an airhead. An unqualified airhead. Her bit on SNL
reinforces the core beliefs about her being not-so-bright.

The song was funny. Amy Pohler was hilarious. However, Sarah Palin's role in
all of this made me cringe for her. She doesn't have respect or the seriousness
to make that bit funny. She looks more at home as a dancer (beauty
queen, cheerleader, Access Hollywood anchor) than as a veep candidate, and that's
why this kind of comedy just doesn't work when it comes to her.

5. I was laughing my ass off
She sat there while they made fun of her and she seemed to not know. I was hoping the crowd would have booed her, but no such luck. I guess they just read the "applaud" cards and did what they said to do.

But Palin did not "light up the screen" or even looked like she was important. I would like to say I felt sorry for her but...ummm...I didn't. She will be a memory in a few weeks and it seems like SNL had her on just for a goof.

7. As usual, the comments her supporters leave are the best part:
"Here is something that I would like folks to think about. How do u think that Obama will cut our spending deficit??? from the defense dept. just like Clinton did and left us with NOTHING when 9-11 came.Bush had to REBUILD this up due to POOR JUDJMENT. DEJA VUE folks, DEJA VUE!!!"

"no he hasn't answered,he said ayers was a guy in the neighborhood.that was a lie, then he said he thought he healed, which is another lie, then said he didn't know his paster of 20 yrs was a ranting anti american racist, then he denied associations with a.c.o.r.n then admitted having some connection with them along time ago.which is another lie.he was acorns attorney & community organizer his camp gave acorn 832 grand 4 get out the vote.him & ayers gave then over 200 grand."

"The skit was great Amy was incredible!!I was 70% Obama until the plumer changed my mind. Palin showed she IS a very inteligent and respectable women, despite the left media. I will now vote McCain/Palin!!"

Two comments from the same enlightened Palin supporter:

9. I met a guy at McDonald's last week...
...and my husband and I began talking with him because our kids were playing together.

The subject moved from the economy to politics, and he blurted out, "Obama is a terrorist."

We were absolutely stunned. I've never actually met someone who believes this, and I'm a pretty
active member of my community--which is heavily Republican.

After meeting this person, I think it's best just to write them off. I think there's something
bigger than any of us going on with these types--depression, lack of intelligence, ignorance
and some deluded thinking due to Rush Limbaugh listening.

You can't save everyone. You just can't.
