Local papers usually get very few letters to the editor and will usually print most of them. If you wanted to respond to the ignorance above, you could and I'd bet my bottom dollar it would get printed as well.

The paper prints election letters for all campaigns. Of all the ones they have printed thus far, the one cited is the only one to contain the outright mockery of a candidate's physical characteristics. Readers are accustomed to seeing repetitions of talking points and assorted fictions. We have also been treated to the paper's endorsements of candidates currently under investigation (Republican candidates) over eminently qualified Democratic candidates with no such encumbrances. The OP intended to demonstrate that the paper has chosen to ignore, at the very least, its own prohibitions against bad taste. (see below)

Guidelines for letters to the editor, Greeley Tribune:
