My rightwing brother visited us this weekend and made this comment about Powell and his endorsement
"If Powell endorses Obama, it's over."

His logic was the appeal from the military and moderate conservatives who are disillusioned with Bush's policies.

So ... I guess it's over.

3. Feeling a little snarky, are we?
I never made claims of it being brilliant. It was just a comment.

2. Hope he's right. Will it change your RW brother's vote at the polls? nt

4. He's undecided right now.
However, he did reveal that he voted against Bush in 2004. He wouldn't tell me who he voted for, but it wasn't Bush.

His vote and opinion could be important. He lives in Missouri.

5. Fantastic signature. And I hope he's right too. I gotta wonder...
...does Colin Powell's endorsement carry any weight? That was my first thought when I heard he was going to endorse someone and I speculated it would be McCain.

6. We'll have to see if it carries any weight but I THINK it might nudge some voters
over to our side.

And welcome to DU, the blues! :hi:

7. It will reassure the crossover voter who might feel a tinge for
abandoning their party.
