If he came to my door, I'd give Obama an earful on how health insurance needs to be affordable to all, available to all, and allow complete choice of care provider for all. Then I'd say, if he can do that without a single payer fee for service system, great, I'd sure like to see how.

I'm not particularly strong on Obama's tax plan. I think he should raise taxes on the well off and leave them alone on the rest of us. I understand the political appeal of a middle and lower income tax cut though, and I don't hold it against Obama. (I already voted for him absentee)

The fact that Joe Plumber doesn't know that much about plumbing or taxes doesn't surprise me much. It also doesn't elicit much anger from me.

I think Joe has allowed Obama to spend a lot of focused time on his tax cut plan. In fact, from Palin to Joe Plumber, from McCain to
Cindy to the RW media, I think the Obama campaign has beat them at every turn. They are almost caricatures of a campaign.

I lurk at forums that cater to both sides of the aisle. I have been looking at this forum for more than 18 months. This post is the one finally brought me out of my shell and made me register and post here at DU. I have read disturbing things both here and at sites that are tilted to the Republican side of things.

Husb2Sparkly has posted lots of mean spirited things but this one takes the cake. "Joe the Plumber" was a nobody. Senator Obama sought out Joe, not the other way around. He was just a guy minding his own business, and he simply asked a question that Obama answered in a way that a lot of people don't like. Obviously Husb2Sparkly took a fair amount of personal offense to that one simple question and the response it brought from Senator Obama, and even more importantly the air time it has gotten in the media.

So in response to that Husb2Sparkly has managed to say, in just a few lines, that Joe:

is a "stupid fucking cockroach"
is a "lowlife"
has a "big fucking mouth"
leads a "miserable fucking life"
is a "hot shit"


And he is threatened to "just wait" because he will "NOT be happy about where this ends."

He will also have all his tax, police, and credit history splashed everywhere for the public to read. And on top of all of that he will be ruined and will be lucky to have a job as a RotoRooter man. The masturbation references and dirty underwear jokes are a really classy touch also.

So this is how the party of compassion treats someone who asks nothing more than a simple question of their candidate?
