Barack is coming to Kansas City!
And he'll be speaking at the WW1 Memorial which coincidently is the polling place I worked in 2004 when they STOLE THE VOTE and used VOTER INTIMIDATION in that district to keep the minority vote down.

I'm too afraid to be hopeful.

4. I need to buy another star so I can "search" for my old threads
I had some crazy experiences working for moveon. in 2004. I've been wanting to post again about them. They are extremely complicated. But the voter intimidation is fairly simple. They put notes on cars in predominantly black areas telling them the wrong day to vote. They told people they would be arrested if they had a warrant when they tried to vote.

Actually, I'm listening to Thom Hartmann right now and he's talking about this happening again, but I didn't catch where.

They also had a lot of police drive bys and police presence at the polls. It was very hard to find out where your polling place was located. It was supposed to be written on your registration card when it was returned to you, but many times, it was not.

It was bad enough that a group (actual several) was formed called "No Stolen Elections" which still exists.

3. Saturday at 4pm
At the Liberty Memorial. They want you to RSVP through Obama's website. I can't imagine how many people will show up because there were 25,000 at that location for Kerry/Edwards in 2004. It says "first come first serve basis". Hopefully I'll receive an e-mail as to when we can start lining up. EXCITING!
