The ***BIG*** takeawy for America from tonight's debate:
A very angry, overly tightly wrapped, overwound, torsionally stressed, John McCain.

That really tight smile/sneer he does. The sighing noises off camera. The glaring. The air jabs and the young guy with his deformed old thumb.

There was nothing inspiring or sympathetic or comforting in him. Nothing.

He just look angry and old and pathetic.

1. I'm looking forward to the cartoons that will show him looking like Giuliani in drag.
What in the world was up with the pink lipstick?

4. Rachel nailed it when she said..
.. McCain looked more like he didn't want
Obama to be president than he looked like
he wanted to be president.

He came across as petty and small.

Obama came across as statesmanlike, calm,
in control.

7. agreed..McLame came off as senile, grumpy and nasty.
McLame played to his base... he already has his base. BO was going for the undecided. Very good strategy.

6. I Think McCain succeeded
to completely piss off the undecided women because of his mocking attitude toward a woman's health in abortion decisions. What a pathetic has-been.

8. He threw everything but the kitchen sink.
Probably because Joe was working on it. Seriously, there was a lot of attacks that McCain threw at Barack. He was quite pleased with himself. He lost big.

There's no way he could stand up to the demands of the presidency.

one on one, mano a mano to Obama who is kind and thoughtful of others.

I watched the CNN presentation. At the bottom their is a graph showing the reactions of independent voters. Men's reactions are show on one line and the women's on the other (red). Women like Obama. They don't like McCain. Men like McCain better than the women do. Women really dislike Sarah Palin. Men like Sarah Palin. Problem is, McCain already has the white male voters. He needed to attract some of the women. He just can't. He is not attractive to women.

I think there is an explanation for that. He grew up in a military environment at a time when it was dominated, and I mean dominated, by men.

If you have seen Mad Men, you may understand what it was like back in the 50s and early 60s when McCain (and I) were growing up. Men did not see women as women really are. Communication between men and women was generally very poor. Men and women lived in two different worlds. McCain just does not know or understand women even though he has daughters.
