Leave your bias at the door .... who do you think won?

I think Obama won, but only by a nose. That's simply my meaningless opinion and I won't argue it here.

2. I believe Obama won because McNuts was wandering all over the
map! Some of his answers started out on topic and then veered off into never never land! It was like he was trying to make sure he got in every talking point his handlers told him he had to say! There was NO correlation to anything.

I thought Obama wasn't effective in the first half hour. After that, he smoked McCain.

But it doesn't matter. Now comes money and the ground game.

And the Secret Service.

Aside from the bizarre mannerisms, I did think McCain seemed a little less sleep-inducing than in the two previous debates.

Obama was Mr. Cool as usual.

12. No contest
I think Obama won by a huge margin. Not close at all. McCain looks and acts very unstable. That's the last thing most people want to see. Obama was particularly strong on health care and education.

14. I thought it was boring and kept...
yelling at the tv. The first half an hour was just "eh" for Obama. McCain came across creepy yet again, and I realized this was the equivalent of my father in law running for President. And he passed away 5 years ago (but they would be the same age).
I thought he did well for the rest of the time though.

Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 10:26 PM by TankLV
I was not pleased - but so far Obama's actions have proven him right every time...

while I'm more justifiably ANGRY at the REPUKE LIES, and would have brought up Keeting and all the rest of the sludge, I have to sit back and trust Obama on this one...

on the other hand, INSANE admitted he's tax your existing health bennies, and did everything but kill an abortion doctor live on stage - so on those two issues alone, I'd say Obama is sitting pretty...

what was the question?

i wish obama had been a little tougher with that piece of gossipy shit he was sitting next to, but i think he won.

31. Obama won, but I was worried in the beginning.
I felt he started weak, and I was seriously pissed that he gave mccain props for his stand on torture, cuz that's bullshit right there...but he hit the Ayers and Acorn things out of the park I thought, and handled himself with grace and cool dignity while mccain came off grumpy and defensive and rude.

Overall, I feel good about it, and I'm so freaking glad it's over. I have a stunning headache right now...

the second third it was McCain's

It was at the end when Obama finally got it

And it was by the middle that Obama found his groove and once he landed the Ayers punch McCain lost it

By the way the CNN bars will be great for poli sci classes in years to come

38. Obama - by much more than a nose
Once again, we witnessed what leadership in America can look like under a President Obama - calm, steady, intelligent and caring.

His message to us that fixing all the wrongs committed against America won't be easy or cheap is important to remember, but it sure is reassuring to think about a President Obama leading US in these historic and stressful times.

40. Obama
McCain gave the impression of doing well because he was nasty, and that's what we're used to. He was vague and strange, his so called "offensive" approach was unskilled, stumbling and mean spirited.

Obama answered question very well within the time constraints of a debate. He clarified points and he spoke well. His smiles and chuckles seemed genuine when McCain spouted off something he thought was an actual debate point. McCain looked like he was chewing rocks.

Debate expectations of both McCain and Palin have evidently have low bars. If they don't fuck up completely, they're thought of as doing well. The bar is certainly much higher for Obama, and he exceeds it handily.

The second Obama said "FOX NEWS, isn't that an oxymoron?" it was over.

And that split screen...:wtf: I have to say honestly...McCain is starting to scare the fucking shit out of me.

Every time Obama was speaking,it looked like Mcsame's eyes were going to bulge right out of his head, and you could see that one vein above his left eye actually start to pulse. The dude is becoming seriously unhinged, and Bob Shieffer saw it as well. There were a couple of times that I thought Bob was actually going to end it for fear that McCain was going to either stroke out on him, or mistake him for a VC prison guard and go Rambo-flashback on him.

47. Depending on whether it was just listened to or watched...
big difference, imho.

When it was live, I was listening to it on the radio, and I wasn't very impressed with Obama and it sounded like McCain was holding his own better than he'd done previously. I wanted Obama to be more aggressive and not let too many things slip by. Also, it was boring to listen to, especially Obama; McCain at least was more animated and was lying and just making shit up, but he was more interesting to listen to.

THEN... then I watched it and oboy what a difference!! I was actually quite amazed at how differently the whole thing was when you could see the facial and body language of both of them! Then I was completely engaged with what Obama was saying, he wasn't boring at all (and I had already heard the whole thing!). And McCain suddenly wasn't interesting but was just annoying and bizarre (and still lying).

That was my honest take.
