I think we know what was forgotten in prep
It seemed like McCain's hearing aide battery was dead. Anytime he gave a reply after Obama, he seemed to reply in complete disregard to what Obama had said. This was especially evident during the health care portion where McCain claimed something utterly incorrect, Obama corrected him, and then McCain responded by making the exact same claim.

1. Welcome to DU!
:hi: McCain's answers were wandering all over the place in many of the questions, but he always ended with "cut taxes".

3. Thanks!
I usually just lurk around here and read the top10 and the hate mailbag. But this debate was a bit of a snooze fest so I figured I'd check the discussions here. :toast:

2. Like Sarah Palin, MCCain had obviously practiced a few lines of attack & needed to get them in
whenever / whereever.

4. whenever / whereever
That was my alternate theory - he just opted for his memorized talking points and applied them without regard to the context of the debate.
