Actor James Cromwell, trashing the Bush family and bitch slapping Willie Geist on Morning Joe.
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 07:40 AM by KzooDem
Cromwell speaking truths about the Bush Family Evil Empire, and about his research into the family as he prepared for his role as Bush 41 in Oliver Stone's new movie "W". Willie is guffawing and implying Cromwell dosen't know what hes' talking about. Cromwell isn't having any of it and isn't conceding the floor to that annoying little poindexter.

1. Did he say "That'll do, pig"?...
I really like Cromwell. He's an excellent character actor and I'm looking forward to seeing how he portrays 41.

Very good closure! I was remembering the very same things you mentioned, but neglected to post lest my geek-ness would be over-revealed.

3. Still reeling from it. As we are empowered, it is so important to act like
we are not in the minority any more, and we all should stand up and remind them of it with NEW behavior.

18. I'm seeing this in the comments section to the Minneapolis paper
A few weeks ago, it was dominated by wingnuts. Now the left-of-center people are emboldened and speaking up and debunking the wingnuts' regurgitated Rushisms.

6. Also, he invented the warp drive
Josh Brolin was on Fresh Air yesterday talking about his research and performance as W himself. To his credit, Brolin refused to get into his own political views, because he didn't want the film to be taken as a political attack. Instead, he insists that it's a bio-pic, and he declared his real admiration for certain aspects of Bush's life.

8. lol! I wish I saw it! Most of the characters Cromwell has played in the past are evil
and it seems that his playing Papa Bush isn't any different. :)

9. Except for George on "Six Feet Under," most of his roles...
in the last 20 years since "Music Box" have been the old-establishment white rich racist murdering patriarch with a 1000 prior crimes in the closet. So he's been preparing for Bush Sr. for a long time!

11. Maybe Stone can do Papa Bush's story the next time around, with Cromwell, reprising
his role. At the same time, he can share his knowledge with Stone and contribute to the script.

I find Papa Bush's story more compelling and the world has to become enlightened to just how evil he is.

22. Most actors prefer playing villians
it's just so much my fun to play against type! James is a total sweetheart, so playing a villain is a great challenge for him. ;-)

Did a fabulous job, as usual. I bet playing Jack Bauer's sinister father was loads of fun for him.

other research. I'm sure Oliver Stone provided a few sources. ;)

the same language the wingnuts use, "fabricating 'history' ". Midnight Express is still an all time great movie.

17. Chuckie admitted he was right wing... this was an amazing moment

You need to watch a tape of this and look at Chuckie's reactions when
Cromwell confronted him and also right before Chuckie spoke up and
was listening to Cromwell. He never denied Cromwell's accusation.

21. Cromwell is a friend of my cousin's
he is often a presenter at and awards ceremony in Beverly Hills that she co-chairs every year. Great guy and an uber liberal. He's really into philanthropy and social justice causes, and everyone who knows him has nothing but good things to say about him!

33. Both Todd and the other male host were squirming...
They looked like a couple of kids on the playground confiring before they started picking on the new kid... and the female host couldn't have been more plastic. These guys couldn't just let Cromwell talk... they had to put in their slanted views. Cromwell didn't back down - it was great.
