2. I let a coworker have it about this exact thing today!

She's one of those wish-washy "independent" types. The truth is that her parents are right-wing extremists and she talks to them every day. The only publication she reads is The Economist.

It's clear that even she has had it with the Republicans but she still has to insist on being "impartial" and praising Palin for this and that and she just tires me out...

Today she said she was surprised that Krugman won the Nobel because "he's usually so biased in his columns." My response was, "Maybe he's right." She went on to say, "I just don't like his columns. They're not balanced." That did it. I said, "Sometimes the facts have a liberal bias. Sometimes its not possible to present both sides of an issue because one side is clearly correct and the other is wrong."

Things have been a little frosty around here today. Too bad. I'm still mad at the supposedly intelligent people who act this way.

4. oh gosh, that sort of thing is frustrating

If one side says that the sky is blue and the pope is Catholic is that being biased? There is a clear distinction between who is right and who is wrong, that some people cannot see that is insane. And I'm not even talking about RWers, they are who they are and they aren't going to change, I mean the exact type of person you mentioned, the wishy-washy Independents. Yuk.
