WE HAVE 200 APPLICATIONS IN OUR OFFICE IF YOU DON'T KISS OUR ASS AND LIKE IT!!!
It's been going on at a lot of places and now it's finally come to where my wife works. She's been treated good and making good money for over six years but now her and several others who have been there just as long and making about the same pay are getting treated like shit and being threatened everyday about losing their jobs if they don't act like they like it. Being treated like shit that is.

1. and don't even think about asking for a raise,
cause we're already paying you to do the job you were hired to do. So if you don't like it here, feel free to find another job.

Yup, that's been employer attitude for the last 8 years.

4. What they're doing at her office...
The managers and supervisors are dumping a lot of their duties on people at the lower level to do in addition to their own responsibilities and just being plain assholes. She walked up to one of her supervisors last Friday to ask a question and got chewed out for interrupting her (the supervisor) while she was thinking.

2. Does she work in D.C., by chance?
Because my husband worked in a place where the HR manager frequently told people when, say, they did things like come into work at 10 instead of 8 after working until 3 am or took vacation time (scheduled a month in advanced) to take care of a partner following surgery.

5. Happened to a co-worker last recession '01
He called in before 7:30 am to say he was at the hospital with his wife who went into labor early that morning and the boss asked him what time he'd be in after he dropped his wife off at the hospital.

True story.

8. I'm so freakin glad we run our own business....
Sympathies to everybody going through this kind of mistreatment and to those who can't find a job.

Fuck Bush** and the Repubs and their "robust" economy.

10. I started my own business to get away from stuff like that
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 12:50 PM by DaveTheWave
But now I'm almost out of business. What did it for me was my last boss bringing three projects by my desk asking me how long each one would take. Each one looked like it would take a day, 8 hours and I informed him of that. The very next day he wanted to know why and was pissed that all three weren't done in one day, 8 hours.

11. Yeah, my last boss
...liked to treat women like crap. One day he told me he could replace me with someone else for less than I was making. I looked him straight in the eye and said "Then why don't you?" Ass.

I stayed there until I chose to leave a year later because I was moving overseas to be married.

Sorry your business isn't going well. You and your wife stay strong.
