Please debunk this: Obama's ties to wall Street CEO's...
And yes I know that it comes from a right wing website and doesn't have any links or source materials to back it up. that is not the point. Is the allegations in here true, partially true or completely false....And better still how do I counter the argument?

http://politicallydrunk.blogspot.com/2008/09/obamas-sub-prime-buddies-lehman.html

"Among Obama's campaign contributors are many Lehman Brothers Executives, such as CEO Richard Fuld."

"Stanley O’Neal, who received more than $161 million when he was ousted as the Chairman of Merrill Lynch, was one of the three CEO’s coming under scrutiny. In 2003, O’Neil donated to Senator Obama’s Senatorial campaign, followed up by a maximum $4,600 campaign contribution by he and his wife, Nancy Garvey, to the Obama Campaign. Ironically, the O’Neals tried to originally contribute $6,900 to the campaign only to have $2,300 returned."

"
John Rhea - (over $500,000) Co-Head of Lehman Bros. Global Investment Banking
Mark Gilbert - (over $500,000) Lehman Brothers Senior Executive
Christine Forester - (over $500,000) Lehman Brothers Senior Executive
Theodore Janulis – Bundler (over $100,000) & Lehman Brothers Head of Global Mortgages
Nadja Fidelia – Bundler (over $50,000) & Managing Director of Lehman Brother"

"
Contributing to Obama’s cause is the more controversial Brad Morrice, the former CEO and President of the imploded subprime lender, New Century Financial. Morrice and his wife contributed the maximum $4,600 to Obama’s campaign last August."

"
Among other subprime contributors to Obama’s campaign are Steve Boland, a managing director at Countrywide, who donated the maximum last June. Andrew Beer the president of Wachovia’s troubled subprime lender Evergreen Investment Partners also maxed out his contribution to the Obama campaign; and Joseph Azrack, the president of Citigroup Property Investments along with dozens of Citi Executives have heavily contributed.

In 2007 Eric Schwartz, the co-head of Goldman-Sachs Global Asset Management abruptly stepped down from is position, fueling rumors that his resignation was tied to a crumbling Global Alpha Hedge Fund. The Fund’s mounting losses led to a -39% performance last year as the fund assets shrunk by 60%. Shwartz, an Obama bundler and contributor, has helped to raise over $100,000 for the Senator’s Campaign."

"Three executives from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. have raised at least half a million dollars for Obama."

3. If these people gave over $2,300 per person to any one candidate then they violated the law.
$500,000 by one person to Obama?

laughable.

10. That's not the point. .......THEY take them seriously
and then it becomes issue DuJour. And I would just as soon shoot them down ASAP. I figure they got this off some site that is about to bust this story out and I need to know how to combat it. And just saying that site sucks, or don't believe it is not enough for them. (it is enough when they attack my facts however).

11. What are They Accusing Obama Of?
Of course he has backers on Wall Street. In general, the financial industries are more Democratic than most others. Wall Street is much better at seeing the impact of government policies on the entire economy. I'm glad so many Wall Street executives prefer him to McCain.

Is he being accused of backing the bailout? Bush and Paulsen arranged for it. McCain not only supported it, but added another $300B plan.

12. Of course. Two former heads of Goldman, Sachs? NJ Gov. Corzine and Bob Rubin....
Clinton's Treasury Sec. and an econ adviser to Obama. There are many Democrats at that firm, and others.

13. People with money give it to politicians that they think can win
In order to insure access and to curry favor.

Whether they get access or favors is another story.

But ideology doesn't much enter into it, unless the potential winner is really repugnant.

And they would never give money to a clear loser, no matter what the loser's positions are.
