A witch-doctor or witch-hunter is a faith healer who believes in witchcraft.

They are found in both obscure Christian (e.g. Pentecostal) and pagan sects.

Sarah has been blessed by two of them in her church, watched a video on how
one of them drove a witch out of a small town in Kenya with an armed mob
(approvingly) and then recieved his blessing. Her church believes Alaska
is a refuge from Armageddon and believes in the 1,000 year (post-Armageddon)
theocracy before Jesus can return.

AIP is a movement composed of pentecostals, racists and survivalists that
seeks to secede from the union. Its founder (who was running the party when
Todd and Sarah joined) said that "the fires of hell are like frozen glaciers
compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won't be buried
under their damn flag."
He was killed trying to sell explosives shortly
before delivering a speech to the UN sponsored by the ambassadors of Iran,
who was supporting AIP's secessionist cause at the time and presumably
sought to have an "Alaskan interest section" at the UN thru Iran. The
Palins were active in the party at the time, attending almost every convention
during the same period, and continued to be active, with Todd Palin re-registering
as a Republican in 2007 and Gov. Sarah Palin addressing the AIP convention in
2008 and giving its keynote address
several years before that.

1. Did I mention Vogler (founder of the Palin's party for 20 years) wanted to nuke Alaska's glaciers
To free up room for a highway down the peninsula? No joke.

He said it in the Alaskan governors' debate. Yes, he was invited by MSM to the debate.

4. Uh...
"He was killed trying to sell explosives shortly before delivering a speech to the UN..."

That's quite a trick!

5. Well, he managed. It was at his home in Alaska. Vogler was scheduled to speak at the UN
Invited by the Iranians in what was seen as an embarrassment to the US, since AIP had gotten a governor elected to office.

He was killed by a lone nut in what was dismissed as not a terrorist transaction gone bad, but merely a lawful sale of explosives gone bad.

11. Yeah, I know the story
I was poking a little fun at the grammar. It can be read as saying that he was killed and then gave a speech, which is quite a trick (rim shot).

Probably should have used a smiley. :)

6. The question has always been "Why aren't the press questioning her patriotism?"
Palin's participation in the AIP conventions has been generally known since a couple of days after she was chosen by McCain. I am baffled as to why those activities haven't brought on serious examinations by the press of her loyalty to the U.S.. It wouldn't hurt Alaskan citizens also to hear that they can't have it both ways. If they want to be defended by the U.S. military, have access to U.S. programs like Social Security, get support from the federal gov't for the energy industry including an infant wind generation program, they can't secede, and need to drop the traitorous organizing.

They need to do what over half our populace does in response to our country's problems--love our country enough to advocate change. As appealing as it may be at times to proclaim that one's state should secede from our corrupt gov't, a smaller, less powerful one-state country will be even less able to stand against global financial manipulators.

8. In a poll I posted here on DU, over half the respondents said Obama should not bring this up.
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 04:53 PM by Leopolds Ghost
They said we here should bring it up instead.

But nobody is doing so.

Just as attempts to turn Bush's attacks on Kerry
back against him were met with stiff resistance
and hostility on DU (from many of the same people
who now accuse Kerry of not fighting back when he
was 5 points ahead in late August.)

If DUers won't harp on this early and often, why should the press?

10. About the AIP thing. Was in right-wing hell this weekend...
and was told neither Todd nor Sarah had belonged to the AIP.

I admit I am not COMPLETELY up to date on EVERY issue those two present as potential gifts to us, but I thought it was a given that Todd had belonged -- Sarah simply taped a "keep doing a good job" intro as governor for their most recent conference.

How are they disputing Todd's membership?

Wasn't there something about the head of AIP saying they both belonged, then retracted it?

What's the latest info about this particular scandal?

Thanks much! :)
