Philly local news coverage - Palin vs. Obama (plus Obama in Philly pics)
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 09:10 AM by MadrasT
Just saw Philly channel 6 ABC local news coverage. Started off by saying that both parties made appearances in Philly yesterday.

Showed Palin dropping the puck at the Flyers game. NO MENTION of the overwhelmingly negative reception. I was working up a good "mad" about that whitewashing, then after no more than 5 seconds of Palin coverage, they cut to...

US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama arrives during a rally at Progress Plaza in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Obama's first stop in Philly - 15,000 people
Obama's second stop in Philly - 5,000 people
Obama's third stop... huge crowd (quantity unidentified)
Obama's fourth stop... huge crowd (quantity unidentified)

Then they showed a clip of Barack speaking and interviewed several "men on the street" who were supporting Obama.

OK, they glossed over the "BOOS" at the Flyers game, but overall the Channel 6 local news coverage was...

GOBAMA!!! :applause:

1. The "conventional wisdom" about PA in general has been wrong
The PA GOP has only had two issues: Tax and Culture War. And each are becoming irrelevant as our Republicans realize they have been sold a bill of goods.

The PUMA issue is also more a matter of wishful thinking on the part of an irony-and-conflict obsessed press than reality. Sure, we love Hillary. We also love Barack. And we'll vote for him. (We know we can vote for HRC in 2016, when she's seasoned.)

Obama ought to visit the Philly suburbs more often. There are enough Obama supporters here that a few O-rallies could break the remaining hold of the GOP.
