What The Hell Kind Of Prayer Is This?!?!?
Before McCain spoke, a Christian pastor offered a prayer that seemed to ask for divine intervention on his behalf. "There are millions of people around this world praying to their God -- whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah -- that opponent wins for a variety of reasons," Pastor Arnold Conrad said. "And, Lord, I pray that you would guard your own reputation, because they're going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens."

3. Sick, crazy, and totally off-putting to anyone . . .
Who is not already on board with him. If we weren't already convinced that he's not fit for the office of the presidency, his conduct of the campaign ever since he began engaging with Obama's camp is proof of his incompetence.

And the American people have already had their fill of incompetence in the White House.

7. The guy is very ignorant.
There is no God in Buddhism and they do not pray to the first Buddha since he was not a God. Hinduism is far more complex with the numerous Gods.

He makes it sound like their are many gods all trying to fight with the Christian god. I was taught by the nuns that there was only one god. These Christian leaders are really confused.

15. Instead of trying to make sure God is on his side, he needs
to make sure he is on God's side, and he definitely isn't. Praying to God to endorse your personal prejudices is definitely not the way to go. He is like the people who pray to God to let their sports team win over the opposition, except that in this case a McCain win would cause real harm to many people, not only in this country but worldwide.

I know a few people in the god-business, and they would be appalled by this "prayer." People should have to prove that they've moved beyond a preschool understanding of the universe before they can be ordained.

30. He sounds as though he thinks that God is the leader of a political party, and has asked him for
advice on how to run his campaign!

There are interesting theological implications as well as plenty of arrogance (does God really need Pastor Arnold's advice on how to 'guard his reputation'!) It sounds as though Arnold thinks there really are multiple Gods in the world (including one called 'Hindu'), and they are all fighting to be top-dog. Not, I think, one of the basic tenets of Christianity!
