My "credit profile" is a heck of lot better than when they BEGGED me 12 times a week to sign up to transfer balances up $10,000 at 1.9% for until the balance is paid off. Didn't have a balance to transfer but I was mad at MBNA and switched my card more than 10 years ago, never carried a balance. Now suddenly it's MY credit profile in the terlet? Yeah right.

Dear SmileyRose

We are contacting you to let you know that after a thorough review of your credit profile we have lowered the credit limit on the account listed above. We wanted you to be aware of this change immediately.

Your revised credit limit for purchases is now $3,900.00. The new cash advance limit is $200.00. Please ensure that any additional cardmembers on the account are also aware of this change.

We have sent you a letter with a full explanation of how we came to this decision, but wanted to contact you via e-mail to ensure that you were aware of the change as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Vernon Marshall
Senior Vice President
American Express Company

1. That's too bad
The best thing a body could do right now is borrow to the max. In 6 months either you go broke with everyone else or you pay back the money with inflated earnings. Damn, ya can't win fer losing, eh?

2. i just think it's funny they say it's MY credit profile that's lacking.
of course they can't admit they are more than a little over extended and can't cover if everyone maxes out.
