3. Nancy Pelosi's daughter was on Larry King...
...last night and she mentioned the Christian Wrestling Federation.

My husband said out loud, "What in the HELL is that?"

I told him that it was best that we not EVER, EVER know what the Christian Wrestling
Federation is.

There's weirdness. And then there's crazy-freaky-deaky weirdness.

7. I think when people get inside...
...the halls where the fundie nutjobs play--it can be quite daunting.

I thought those were very terrifying--not funny--scenes in "Borat", when he
participated in those crazy, religious services. Then, when one of them began
shilling for Republican politicians, I about fell off of my chair.

Yep. These people are addicted to religion and they use a very perverse
interpretation of Christianity to avoid reality.

5. Well, our old buddy Ted Haggard is involved
"Journalist and filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi takes viewers on a road trip to chronicle the leaders and followers who comprise the booming evangelical Christian movement. Traveling through the red state heartland of the U.S. that helped elect and re-elect George Bush, Pelosi meets with an array of outspoken evangelicals, from television celebrities like Joel Osteen, Jerry Falwell and Ted Haggard to leaders of groups like the Christian Wrestling Federation and the car club, as well as regular folks committed to carrying out the Creationist messages."

14. Well, supposedly, to have forgiveness and be saved,
you have to sin first. It's a very convenient package deal. Rasputin was very fond of it.

12. Ever see the film "Saved"?
Mary Louise Parker's character was member of the Christian Interior Designers Association.

"Saved" is based in reality- well, the reality these people have carved out for themselves, not the actual reality that you and I live in.

15. As crazy as this is, it's brilliant marketing...
Downtown preachers have been hitting brothels and bars for years to save souls, and going for the gold with wrestling fans, motorcycle racers, rodeos, chili cookoffs, and anyone else they can find is what you'd call great salesmanship in any other field.

But it's still kinda nuts.
