1. If a crash had to occur, I'm glad it happened before he left office, not after nt
I believe Bush & Co honestly thought the earlier interest rate cuts and Fed Reserve infusions and stimulus plus all of his deficit spending would prop up the market and stall the inevitable just long enough until he was out of office and could weasle out of blame. There are still over 3 more miserable months of economic decline before he can dump his mess on a new President.

2. You Better Believe That
These economic problems will tie the hands of whomever becomes President.

3. I never knew there was a magazine called "Failure"!
FAILURE OF THE YEAR 2005
GEORGE W. BUSH
by Jason Zasky

It pains us to announce it but George W. Bush is Failure magazine's "Failure of the Year" for 2005. It's ironic that the President "wins" our annual award, because the founders of this publication really appreciate what Bush has done for us this year. No one has done more to raise failuremag.com's profile than our President. Thanks to the Bush Administration's unrelenting string of scandals and missteps, "failure" and failure-related topics are now some of the hottest search terms on the Web. So he's not only Failure of the Year; unofficially, we consider him to be our Person of the Year.

4. "The Bush Tragedy" by Jacob Weisberg has a very persuasive explanation for Bush's failures
This book focuses on Bush's family and their dysfunction in a Shakespearean way.

ACT I: the loser struggling to be like Dad and failing
ACT II: success at being different (drunk, boorish, inept, but different)
ACT III: descent into messianism (what happens when a village idiot gets the illusion of power)
