Smoking Gun Story: "Keep The N*gger Out Of Office"
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 05:34 PM by RobertSeattle
I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this as the days get closer to 11/4. Noticed the arrest time is 11:09 (assuming AM). That would be just 9 minutes after the Rush Limbaugh show is over in Lousianna. Just saying....

"Keep The N*gger Out Of Office"
Cops: Man threatened voter officials over tardy registration card
OCTOBER 8--Angered by a delay in the receipt of his voter registration card, a Louisiana man today threatened election officials, claiming that he urgently needed to cast a ballot to "keep the nigger out of office," according to police. Wade Williams, 75, was arrested this morning on a felony terrorizing charge after allegedly calling the Registrar of Voters and warning that he would come to the state office and empty his shotgun unless he got his registration card. Using profanity and racial slurs, Williams told a state official "about needing to vote to 'keep the nigger out of office," according to an Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office affidavit, a copy of which you'll find here. Though the document does not name the candidate to which Williams is so violently opposed, it seems likely he was referring to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. After being arrested at his Monroe home, Williams was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center, where the below mug shot was snapped. En route to the jail, he "continued his 'tirade' about niggers and also stated that he had a shotgun, but had it hidden at his residence," reported Lt. Michael Judd. (2 pages)

8. I'm really surprised at that from someone from La?
My neighbors & closest friends when we lived in SC were from NO, and they certainly gave me the impression that La. was the least prejudiced State out of all 50. I guess La. must have pockets of racists too!

That's really sad. If there's a bright side to this, it's that the guy is 75yo. I happen to believe a lot of this nastiness from people from his era will die when they do.

47. I lived in New Orleans for 30 years,
...but am familiar with most parts of the state as well as Mississippi and Eastern/Central Texas.
I currently live in a very rural/backward (beautiful) part of Arkansas. Bigotry, Poverty, and Ignorance abound. However, I LOVE the South.

My strong Populist Democratic roots come out of NE Texas.
One of my rural Texas uncles was a REAL LIFE Atticus Finch.
The strongest, most open minded, most courageous, Democrats you will ever find live in the South.
These people are NOT afraid to go against the flow or stand up for their beliefs.

Change the World by changing minds one person at a time through acts of kindness.

41. Don't think that racism will die out with this man's generation.
My children are in their late twenties/early thirties and the racism they endured while attending school was ridiculous. My daughter was called the N word on the school bus when she was five years old and in Kindergarten. My son, at around eleven, had his well being threatened because he had a crush on a little white girl. I never thought that racism had survived to this extent until my children went through what they did. When my son was in high school, I went to the principal and complained about the amount of racism that was going on, and the man apologized and said he could do nothing about it because the worse racist students were the children of the town leaders/elites. Racism is alive and well and being passed down to a new generation every day.

This guy has the right to a trial.

By labeling him a "turrist" he doesn't get one.

I'm against that. He may be an ass and a bigot, but he has a right to a day in court.

53. Until the assholes taste the laws they advocate....
They will continue to call for them.
The only reason the right is OK with water boarding and other torture techniques is because they are aware that they will never be subjected to them.

But, give'em a taste of the draconian laws they love, and you will gain another progressive vote.

54. State law, "terroristis threats"
Most states have these laws and they are not to be confused with the "Patriot Act". They generally are applied for Klan-type activities, either by an individual or a group.

For example, my crazy neighbor threatened to burn my house down whilst in a drunken rage; he was charged with making a terroristic threat and did a year of house arrest.

These laws can be abused like any other, but they are, in principal, a good thing.
