Either of them would have been in the White House with Biden on their ticket.

I am convinced of that.

2. Yeah, now that I think of it you're probably right.
But look at the alternatives, Lieberman and Edwards? One obviously bad pick and one not so obviously bad pick, but bad nonetheless.

4. Even with last night's Delaware "gaffe?"
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 11:38 AM by depakid
It's hard not to agree with Biden being better than Liebermann- but then again, do you really think he wouln't have sat across the table and still made Cheney out to be a reasonable person, rather than the socoiopath that he was and is?

Was that really his style at the time?

11. It wasn't a gaffe- it was simply Obama telling the truth
about the balkanizaion of states- how insurers and others take advantage of that- playing one off another- and consequently why there needs to be federal law in place with respect to certain things.

Like health insurance mandates- or credit card interest rates.

7. Unfortunately, in 2004 Biden was siding with Bush and McCain on Iraq war decision, and spoke against
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 11:59 AM by blm
Kerry's position that Bush should NOT have invaded Iraq when weapon inspections were proving force was not needed. Kerry STAYED aligned with the weapon inspectors while Biden and most every other prominent Dem at the time (like the Clintons and Lieberman) aligned with Bush's decision.

It wasn't until some months AFTER the June2006 Kerry-Feingold Iraq Timetable vote when Biden re-assessed his support for Iraq war and came around to agree with Kerry's position after a trip to Iraq to see for himself what was happening.

8. One of the ONLY things I have ever found fault with Gore over was his pick of Lieberman.
Biden would have been much much better of that we definitely agree.

9. Nonsense. There is no way to prove that with or without
Lieberman or Edwards the end result would have been different.

13. Bush/Cheney didn't win
So we would have had someone else had we not had the incredible amount of idiots who said at the time "How much damage can he do?"

14. I would agree with Gore but I think Edwards was a good choice for 2004
I mean at the time Edwards had no skeletons in his closet.

15. Possibly true of Kerry, probably not of Gore.
Lieberman was an extremely smart pick of running mate, and gave Gore a big boost.

Edwards in 04 was a more questionable choice - he and Kerry never really gelled, I believe, and someone else might have been better. I don't know if that someone was Biden, though.

16. I almost sat out 2000 because of Liebermann.
Hate to admit it, but there it is.

He just seemed like such a POOR choice for VP. Zero charisma, ugly as hell (shallow, I know, but hey), seemed to be more Repuke than Liberal.

The only thing that dragged my sorry ass out to vote was the fear of having someone as stupid as Idiot George in charge of this great country (I didn't realize then just how completely fucked up things would get under his incompetent time).

I know a lot of people who voted for Nader just because they were so disappointed in Liebermann (and this is Florida...).

17. Anybody but Loserman would have been better...
...for Gore, but I think his big mistake was not letting Clinton be more involved in his campaign.

I think in 2004 it was a mistake to have Kerry at the top of the ticket; I would have preferred Howard Dean.

But I think Biden was a great choice for Senator Obama's VP.
