So... I got "Obsession" in the mail yesterday !!!
I didn't even go through it last night, just found it. Where the hell did they get my address? Voter registrations?

I'm not sure I have the stomach to even watch it. :puke:

I need a coaster though for my sodas here in the office, maybe that would work.

1. Ooo, me too!!
Should we have a viewing party? They WANT you to watch it - I just tossed it in the trash.

2. When you plant your Victory Garden next spring
string all those unwanted CDs (like the thousand or so AOL CDs you used to get every month, admit it) up over the garden. They make great scarecrows.

You can also use them as feng shui mirrors, although that one might reflect negative energy where you don't want it.

One enterprising crafter has been using them as weights on handspindles, but that's a niche market and already saturated.

The coaster idea is OK, but you'd have to plug the hole in the middle or you'd still get a puddle of condensation on your fine antiques.

4. I got one in the mail last week
Repukes are convinced that my husband will vote R someday. I love that they are wasting their money on him. I threw it in the garbage.

6. How was it mailed?
You may be able to mark it "Refused" and make the sender pay.

If it was sent First Class, or if it has an endorsement on it like "Return Service Requested" or "Address Service Requested", then it will get sent back to the sender, and the sender will need to pay to get rid of it. If it was sent Standard (instead of First Class), the Post Office will also charge the sender extra for the return. While this may be the most satisfying outcome, it's the rarest.

If it has an endorsement on it of "Change Service Requested", then the post office will get rid of it, but it will notify the sender of the reason for non-delivery, and charge them extra for sending the notification. Again, this is fairly rare.

It was sent Standard Mail without any of those endorsements, then the mailpiece will be disposed of by the Post Office.

7. Sent pre-paid "Non Profit Org"...
Nothing more.

But, I decided after careful reflection on my personal values to make the choice to not watch the propaganda. I cut it up into pieces and threw it away.

Does that mean that I "Hate America" now?

10. Marking "Refused" would only force the PO to get rid of it then.
I'd send an invoice to the Clarion Group for "processing" and "handling" fees.

Or, just mail them a Koran. That'd piss them off.

8. I found one abandoned on the post office counter -- postage paid corner says only
"Non Profit Org US Postage PAID Permit No. 49 Freeport NY 11520.

The return address is The Clarion Fund, 255 W. 36th Street, Suite 800, New York NY 10018.

It's the pre-release one-hour edition, copyright 2006. MRP $19.95, for anyone who's planning on buying one. (Or, I'll sell ya this here one cheap.)
