Is It My Plain Hopefulness? Or Does It Seem That M$M Is Now Starting To Want To Side With A Winner?
I couldn't watch the debate last night. Instead I watch the post debate comments to see which way the tide turned. Is it my imagination or has the climate finally changed in order for Obama to really gain some traction from the talking head media.

4. The MSM is reactionary
that is, they'll always try and become what the see as the flavor of the day. This is simply a veneer, and should not be mistaken for an actual change of heart.

5. They Want to Trash Everybody
Except those they fear....maybe they are starting to fear Obama, not for himself, but for what he portends.

6. Then there's David Gregory who just doesn't get it... he's totally bewildered
as to why the voting public doesn't agree AT ALL with his opinions.

7. Media cannot deny the overwhelmingly positive public response to Obama
Only the openly partisan hacks can continue propping McCain and dissing Obama when all of the polls and focus groups and response meters clearly show the the overwhelmingly positive public opinions of Obama despite all the nasty Repubs attempts at 'swiftboating' him with media complicity.

9. It Does What's In It's Corporate Interest
Elections are like Christmas and the Superbowl not only for networks but local stations as well. The protracted election season has been a nice cash cow in a time where other types of advertising revenues have shrunk. Making the race appear close, playing on the quirks and personalities and feeding on controversy draws both viewers and additional revenues and also helps their bottom lines as both parties and their various 527s and other interest groups pour billions into advertising time.

Right now the Democrats are rolling in the cash...buying a lot of time in races all over the country (something they really haven't been able to do in years) and this surely has to have some influence on the media coverage...you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Yes, I see the corporate media starting to realize that Gramps will go down...and in many ways, they've helped contribute to it. Gramps jumped the shark when he turned on his "base" during the RNC and started fighting the media as much as Obama. It's turned into a messy divorce and Gramps has lost his PR machine right at the time he needed them the most.

10. They've been unable to fully control the narrative since Katrina forced their spin back at them.
But, they still do TRY - notice that Palin speeches as VP nominee get much more airtime than Kerry's ever did in 2004 as the Dem Presidential nominee.

If they COULD control the narrative they would. Now they're left with just dabbling in interfering with this election.
