$5,000 health credit?
That would cover less than four months for my husband and me. If my husband loses insurance through his employer, we are done.

McCain is out of touch, as usual to think that $5G would be a big help to those with pre-existing conditions.

1. And, the full 15,000 would be taxed
And your employer would be paying FICA, FUTA, etc. on that additional $15,000.

You're lucky - that's only 3 months for me :)

3. We're right there with you.
$10,600 in our employee portion premiums & $14K in out of pocket & uncovered direct medical expenses (not counting transportation, etc). My little boy has MINOR CP. I can't imagine what the parents with children with more severe CP or other disabilities face.

4. $5.000
I don't think he is out of touch. I think he is evil and selfish, and thinks that if the American people bought the last eight years of bullshit that we will continue to fall for his crap now.

6. He doesn't know diddly about $$$
how much things cost.

Cindy controls the purse string in their house.

I find it hilarious he has pretensions of lecturing people about how to spend money, when he's never had to care about it before in his entire miserable stinking life.

7. What incentive would an employer have to even provide insurance?
What an idiot.

9. It's a disincentive
The additional employer taxes mean it costs more to provide health insurance.

8. he has no idea what health insurance even cost and a tax credit is fab for the top 10%
but for the other 90% it's a non starter, where in the fuck does McCain think that regular people will actually get the money to purchase health care insurance.

10. It is a huge transfer of funds to corporate America. The Treasury will
send the check to the Insurance Company and tax the middle class on health benefits. It will jump most of us into a new tax bracket, but that is okay, because the priviledged in America will get big tax cuts to buy another house or car.
