And we all know how ugly mobs operate, they shout you down, intimidate you, threaten you with violence and resort to real violence. These fuckers are becoming increasingly unstable and dangerous.

I want to encourage everyone who can to vote by early voting if it is offered in your state.

11. Especially since Bush has deployed the first brigade to the good ol' USA...
"They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack. . . ."

that will occur 11/5 when the headlines read "Obama in a landslide" ...

23. What Happens to Our Early Votes (or Absentee Votes)…
if they actually do what they are threatening to do to Obama?

Those votes go down the :hurts: and McAin't wins. :grr:

30. I saw that prediction come to pass in Florida when Kerry ran..
Rememebr how he was waaaaaaay ahead because all the early voting seemed to be from "democRAT" areas?..Well I never heard anything about how those "early votes" bere "banked","stored" or whatever.. Surely those early voted should be tallied separately and BEFORE the votes on election day get tallied, so we can match up the NUMBERS..

Voting in America is a crapshoot.:grr:

32. Yep, but they're already doing that anyway..
they're just too stupid to realize it. The politics of racial division have worked since the Reagan years, they figure they can pull it out of their old bag of tricks once again, the repubs are still living their 80's glory days.

14. "They're Turning Into a Lynch Mob"
They're Turning Into a Lynch Mob
by NowAndZen
Tue Oct 07, 2008 at 07:01:23 AM PDT

I hope yesterday was the low-water mark of civility in the MCain/Palin campaign, but I'm afraid that McCain and Palin may be heading down a dangerous path and that they do not know where it ends. They may actually be 1 step away from being the rallying leaders of a lynch mob. Their inflamatory speech is metaphorically asking their supporters to bring tar, feathers, pitchforks and torches.

Let's look at yesterday's scary developments.

NowAndZen's diary :: ::
- Palin supporters shouted nasty epithets at reporters and an African American AV technician.

- Palin made totally unfounded and inflamatory suggestions that Obama is a terrorist or is at least friendly toward terrorists and that he doesn't see the country the way you and I do (wink wink).

- In response to the obove comments, one Palin supporter yelled "Kill him!"

- Palin was introduced by a shaved headed sheriff who denounced what might happen on election day if Barack Hussein Obama is elected.

- McCain asked rhetorically and impregnated with pejorative meaning "Who is Barack Obama?" One McCain supporter yelled "A terrorist!"

- In an interview with Bill Kristol, Palin raises Reverand Wright and Bill Ayers and states that we should be talking about this more. Both old news. Both debunked.

- Palin questioned Obama's patriotism.

- The McCain campaign announces that they are abandoning discussion of the issues, as the Dow drops 800 points intra-day.

37. I don't think that is the reason. For each subsequent generation,
there are fewer real life events that contribute to a racists stance. The Civil War was largely centered around the racial issue of slavery. It was an unmitigated disaster for all. Death, destruction and poverty were the general condition in the South after the war. And, even though the Southerners initiated the war, they blamed the U.S. Government for their miseries.

My grandfather was born during the Civil War. My father was born just 35 years after it ended. When I grew up, there was pervasive and open hatred for "Yankees". But now, Southern children hardly know what or when the Civil War was all about. They have friends of all races present in their schools.
And contrary to what many may presume, most Southern parents don't put any emphasis on racial prejudice. Most young people all over the Country are just too occupied with their daily lives to spend much time contemplating the relative superiority or inferiority of other races.

I'm not asserting that racism no longer exists, only that it is not as pervasive and deep as it was during the last half of the nineteenth Century.
