So who else is thinking about making wooden arrows?
Seriously if it's part of the bailout pork why not try to get some of our tax money back by making wooden arrows... then either use that money to pay down your failing mortgage, or donate it to the Obama campaign. Just a thought.. how about yours?

3. I read something here on it
A company who made them had a steep decrease in business when they were inadvertently taxed something like fourty cents apiece. They were used by youngsters in archery and the boy scouts but it made the arrows so expensive archery was dropped from these organizations. It put the tax back where it had been originally. Why the tax was placed on the arrows in the first place, I don't know. It seems like it was a good thing to do but why it was placed in this bill is a mystery to me.

4. The Senate had to use a House tax bill
because all taxes have to originate in the House. Since there was some language in the bail out that could be considered as new taxes, they had to use a tax bill they already had. All of this was going to pass anyway. This tax exemption is for children's arrows, the tax is meant for adult arrows.

and it was part of the sweeteners added to this

In fact, one of the things that made this bill go from 130 pages to 400+ opus seating on my drive

7. they sold the arrows for about 30 cents
and the tax was 43 cents. more then doubling ths price. they are almost exclusively used for beginner classes, so a lot of them were canceled.

2. It's children's arrows
They sell for a dollar a piece and there is a 46 cent tax per arrow.

You do the math.
