Link to Roll Call for Oct 3 House vote on Bailout (comment on your representative)
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll681.xml

I just want to make mention of my favorite Rep., Maurice Hinchey, D-NY. His votes have for years been the North Star of what is good for the people.

Rep. Jim McDermott, D-WA, apparently got special dispensation from Pelosi to vote against the bill if it didn't endanger passage, as he waited until the last minute to cast his "nay" vote, changed from "yea" on Monday after his website reported hundreds of angry emails and calls in response to his original position. His voice was shaking during his post-vote explanation on the House floor. Well, better late than never.

Anybody want to comment on their Representative's vote or rationale or change of position? Did your Representative behave as usual, or were you surprised?

1. Weldon, R-FL -- Yea. No surprise.
IIRC he voted Nay the first go around, then evidently found the second bill sweetened to his liking. Usual hypocrisy. He's quick to attack the Dems on spending but then voted with them to piss $850 billion away.

2. My Rep Tom Udal (D-NM) voted Nay.
And so far has not disappointed me on the important issues.
But he is running to take the Senate seat of Pete Dominichi and that probably had something to do with it.
Hopefully when he is a senator he doesn't become one with the Borg.

3. Love how you put that.
For those who are mystified by ZeeMike's last line, the "Borg" are from "Star Trek: the Next Generation".
