It is election time so the number of editorial writers advocating for the unnecessary killing of women to protect unviable fetuses is bound to increase exponentially. In the above oped Rita Crowell took some time to describe partial-birth abortion procedures in detail. What she doesn’t describe are the details of how an anencephalic fetus dies of cardiorespiratory arrest on the operating table after the mother’s life and health is put at risk in a “pro-life” attempt orchestrated by individuals who haven’t reviewed the patient’s chart and who have no license to practice medicine. Now Rita can't pretend to be unaware about why there is a health and life exception in the last term. The same goes for the rest of her compadres who like to play politics with these tragic medical situations.
