Bill Maher's "Religulous" in Nashville, TN.
I know you've all heard of Nashville. Music City, USA. The "Buckle" of the Bible Belt. Home to the Southern Baptist Conventin, the Baptist Suday School Board, and the Methodist Publishing House. Actually, the biggest business in Nashville is not music, but religious publishing.

Bill Maher's "Religulous" opened tonight at the Green Hills multiplex. It sold out so quickly they had to open a second theater, and it sold out too! I only saw one couple "walk out", and that was because they found out they were in the wrong theater. The crowd LOVED it!

BTW, I highly recommend this movie. It is hilarious! Take a notepad, though - you may want to use some of his lines.

My favorite part was when he was interviewing a Republican Senator, and during the interview the Senator laughed and said "well, you don't have to take an IQ test to be a Senator." There was a brief pause, and then you could see it dawn on him what he had just said. I have never seen such a priceless expression!

The whole movie is full of "gems". And he did some excellent contrasts of what Jesus taught and what most churches teach today. But I wouldn't recommend it for everyone.

3. Like in Fahrenheit 9/11...
Conyers is being interviewed about how the patriot act was pushed through without being read

He says something like - "We don't read most of the bills"

6. Speaking of crazy religious bullshitters.....
I made the mistake of stopping the remote at the 700 Club. Pat Robertson just announced "Thirty Days of prayer" starting on Monday, and now he's talking about how Satan will take over the Supreme Court if we vote for the "wrong" President. :scared:
