CNN Situation room: Talking heads just said "Race is no longer close"
They did temper the comment by saying the race is not close "right now," but I think that's the first time I've heard a major MSM source admit that this is a blow out.

by acknowledging it is not close they lose their big draw.

10. Welcome to DU. We're a little concerned about the dirty voting machines & other means of ...
... vote suppression. Without those, this election should be a righteous landslide for Obama-Biden. With those still in play, the outcome is less certain. It was Stalin himself who pointed out that what matters is who counts the votes--and Bushco has been doing the counting since the 2000 selection.

Keep working. It's not over till it's over.

Hekate

4. More like 10 weeks
After the GOP convention in August, Bush started edging ahead.

5. I agree, but my point was that most of us have had this in the bag for Obama for awhile
I'll keep working and keep giving what I can for sure, but I think Obama has a charisma that Mike D. didn't. Lets just make sure we keep him from riding around in tanks!

6. Totally false...Dukakis had a supposed 17% lead in early August
The lead had slipped to 7% a week later, which indicates that those polls were soft, at best.

By late September, Bush had a 4-6% LEAD over Dukakis.

7. Well I talked with my life-long GOP mother today
You have to understand that my dad not only supported Reagan, he worked in his office when he was Gov. of CA. Reagan appointed him to serve on one of his commissions. I don't believe they have ever voted Dem in their lives. And now my mom says that after seeing the VP debate, she is going with Obama and Biden. She still likes Palin and McCain, but she believes Biden will bring more maturity to the role. And she is livid at what is happening with the bail-out.

If SHE is voting Democratic this time around, then either hell has frozen over or there is a change brewing in this Country.

8. My brother is voting for Obama
He used to have a website that was named the Rush Limbaugh Site of the Week at one point. That's how conservative he is. I was blown away when he said he was voting for Obama. But he said McCain would just do the same things Bush has been doing and we can see where that's gotten us.
