Seriously, you think they are going to let Obama win?
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 02:28 PM by SnoopDog
Vote stealing machines are in place.

They have a complicit/accomplice Senate and House.

They have the army in place to control the crowd.

And they have now got a near blank check to spend $350 Billion...(thats a lot of Blackwaters...)

When are we all going to accept that our country has been taken over (just like in Nazi Germany)?

If the exit polls differ than the 'vote count' and the election swings to McCain, what is our plan?

I think the only thing we can do is have 150,000,000 people just stop...do nothing....general strike.

I don't know what else to do because doing nothing means we lose everything.

1. Yes, they don't want to inherit this mess.
Put all of the blame on Obama and the Democratic congress for the next four years and then they can have another Reagan style Republican "revolution" in 2012.

Posting messages on a web forum isn't mobilizing. What is the appropriate patriotic response to a coup? Why are you not doing so?

38. This response is ridiculous and fallacious...
It's a variation on "argument from adverse consequences," in which an assertion is rejected solely because it would supposedly lead to things too dreadful to contemplate.

The questions of who is in charge, how much power they have, and what measures they are willing and planning to take next month remain.

Maybe you should backtrack from those college courses and brush up your elementary reading and comprehension skills. Or have the "Nazis" stolen those, too?

27. Didn't discount, I just 'loose' a little respect.
At least once a day, I see someone on this site substitute 'loose' for 'lose'. I find it curious. It's not like it's just one person. Yes, in typing the word 'remember', I often leave out the second 'm', but I watch for it. I would say that 'lose' is by far the most misspelled word on DU. I guess I judge people by their spelling.

15. I see some prefer to ridicule me and my post.... well...
Some act like everything in the last 8 years has all been above bar - all legal - no lies - no corruption. Florida never happened. Ohio never happened.

And some act like governments have NEVER been overthrown. And some forget what happen with some prick named Hitler.

But I get it... It is actually a normal human emotion to think everything is just wonderful - and some possess a trait to sense danger more than others.

So have fun...

Remember, a very small minority fought for and created our country - while the majority did not want to break away from England...

History folks...

17. Can I put the Tin Foil on for a moment and ask:
What makes you think Obama isn't on their side? What makes you think the Democrats (who voted for so many of the atrocious legislation), are not co-conspirators? Do you realize Obama winning will make over 55% of the country pacified? Isn't that the best thing that can happen while they continue to refunnel the wealth to the upperclass and enslave us?

20. I wonder too...
But I wrote specific deliberate point in my post -

"They have a complicit/accomplice Senate and House."

and

"If the exit polls differ than the 'vote count' and the election swings to McCain, what is our plan?"

So, point one is - if our vote is truly counted and Obama wins - then the people's choice wins.

Point 2 - if Obama wins and not a real democrat - I'd say that in general, Americans need to start fighting for our country.

We are losing our jobs, our homes, our prosperity... And it is all by legislative decree and that needs to change and we are the only ones who will cause this change.

You can't have democracy if the loosing side rejects the election results and tries to over-throw the government every time there is an election even if there were few problems with the election.

30. You've convinced me. I'm gonna curl up and die.
Seriously, what you're doing is meeting trouble half-way. Of course I worry about the GOP trying to steal the election and so on, but I disagree with your reading that the country has been taken over 'just like in Nazi Germany'. We are still, fortunately, quite a ways from that.

The reason for my snarky headline is that your attitude seems to be that anyone who disagrees with you is completely blind to everything bad in the last 8 years and is living with the illusion that everything is just hunky dory. This is simply not the case; you are over-simplifying the spectrum of views in order to tilt the balance of the argument towards your own point of view.

While you make a lot of good points, my experience is that the louder people cry 'Why can't anybody SEE?!' (even if they are making basically valid observations) the more likely it is that they have things out of proportion.

34. My points, in my opinion, were very clear...
And I suspect you have not read all my posts in this thread... And I always have to laugh when posters psychoanalyze other posters...(it usually means they have no argument)

Are you saying that we have had absolutely clean elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006? Have you read any of TIA's posts? Mark Crispin Miller? The stuff going on in Ohio?

How about those exit polls - used for decades to prove elections - accurate to within 99% - but suddenly 'incorrect' in America?

The one and only Major point I am trying to make here is that if the exit polls differ from who they told us who won, then WE SHOULD HAVE A PLAN. Is there any harm in that? Or should we wait a few months to think about it...

2006 should have been a true landslide. Instead we got just enough to make people believe the vote was fair. We were gyped out of 30 seats.

This time, McCain will win, and Congress will be flipped back to GOP. Thats right, both houses.

And thats when we will find out who is serious and who has blind faith in our electoral process.

39. They won't "let Obama win" No. But we're TAKING this election.
We're taking it with our thousand of organizers. We're taking it with a turnout of youth and senior the likes of which you can't even imagine.

More than 30% of the vote will be on mail-in or absentee ballots - those are paper, and trackable. It could even be 50%.

Every one point lead in the national polls for Obama = 1.26 million votes. He's leading by 3-10. That's FAR beyond the margin that they can manage to steal. That's a literal FLOOD of votes.

The Repubs can't even manage to coordinate a message or talking point or theme song or debate prep or anything - how are they supposed to be genius enough to coordinate tens of thousands of voting districts and county clerks across 17 battleground states? Ha ha ha - don't make me laugh.

Much of the House and Senate are in their own races fighting for their careers and not tuned in or even in the communications loop of this administration or the next.

You think they have an army in place to control crowds? Where? Because if they did, they'd be shipping them to Iraq. Stop it.

There wasn't any coup - stop it. Bush/Cheney are so hated, that they're going to have to hide in foreign countries come January. The populace is wide awake and paying attention - that's why there are so many millions of new voters this year.

I'm so sick of this concern-mongering going on around here. Get outside. Drive by the school. Drive by the mall. The economy is moving slowly, but it's still moving. Most of us still get a paycheck. Most of us will still have a turkey and a family reunion next month. You'll still argue with your cell company or cable company this month.

You'll know it's a Great Depression when you see everybody riding a bike even in rain or snow, and instead of feeding our overweight faces with Big Macs, we actually consider eating yucky things like turnips or kale.

Sign up on VoteForChange.com, and click Neighbor to Neighbor. Read the script, make 25 calls on behalf of Barack Obama. You'll feel better.
