Thank you Kucinich, thank you Kaptur, thank you DeFazio, thank you Sanders.
You were valiant in your efforts to stand up and fight for us.

This Administration uses the same playbook over and over again and it saddens me to see our leadership fall for it every time.

But I do take comfort in knowing that progressive values are still alive and well in the hearts of many.

But all the others we've been forced to swallow.

Mad Props to Kucinich for always being there for us- in a better Era, he could have been President.

23. Here is the thing : People who were right beforehand NEVER get their due credit.
The most they get ( when reality proved they were right ) is some sneer along the lines of "oh, so now you can pat yourself on the back!"

38. Wonderful Thread, However Shocking and Awful the Outcome
It is a great thing to do to recognize these people, who were all brilliant; I am still in total shock and disbelief at what has happened. I do not understand even slightly, why they did this, unless a statement by Representatvie Brad Sherman a couple of nights ago tells the whole story. Sherman was describing the outrageous fact that well over half of the bailout money is going to go to foriegn investors--over half will have nothing to do with Americans at all--and explained what has happened over the past couple of weeks. When Lehman Bros. failed and went bankrupt, an investment bank in China and also Barclay's Bank of England (with Paulson connections), lost a huge amount of money, and the Chinese bank started making demands for full payment on other debt owed, that Bush-Cheney-Republicans have gotten us into by increasing trade and other debt, and, on other deals the Saudi Royal family also started calling in debts we owed because of Bush-Cheney-Republicans. Sherman's point on this--ignored by corporate media--is that this is the "crisis" that has unfolded, not "homeowner debt" or anything else they have been using as cover, and Bush and the Congress do not want the American people to know exactly how disastrous and now threatening this situation that they have all gotten us into, now is. If the holders of our National debt start demanding payment--as this is--then we will have complete National collapse, and Bush and Congress are still trying to hide how bad this all is.

Some of these people, you already knew how great they were--Sanders, Kucinich--and others I knew how great they are but they never got the credit they deserved--Kaptur--but I also learned how great Brad Sherman of Calif. is; what a great explainer. This is horrible, it will make the entire economy weaker by increasing debt for a thing that does not even help anyone, and all our problems still remain. The House Dems who voted "No," though, are great heroes. THEY should run things, not this disgraceful cabal of Emanuel, Hoyer, and Pelosi.
