There are still more troops in Iraq than before the Surge. Last night Palin said there were less troops in Iraq than after the Surge. Which is it?

I don't usually go to faux news, but a google search showed it, so I thought I would quote the people who do not believe their own reporting! Plus there is a surge going on in Afghanistan currently, called a "quiet surge".

There were about 132,000 troops in Iraq before surge

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,419001,00.html
Said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: "I am stunned that President Bush has decided to bring so few troops home from Iraq and send so few resources to Afghanistan."

About 146,000 U.S. troops will remain in Iraq. Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said that the 4 to 1 ratio of troops in Iraq to Afghanistan shows a misguided plan for addressing the challenges.

5. Obama was right. Fact check from MSNBC.
PALIN: Said the United States has reduced its troop level in Iraq to a number below where it was when the troop increase began in early 2007.

THE FACTS: Not correct. The Pentagon says there are currently 152,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, about 17,000 more than there were before the 2007 military buildup began.
