Green Technology ROI crushes Oil, cheaper cleaner sustainable energy solutions for us and to export
Why invest in oil drilling up in Anwar and get some results 10 years down the road and not even solve our problem. Cape Wind wanted to put 100 windmills off the coast of Nantucket that can provide power for every home on Cape Cod and the islands.

Oil extraction is very expensive, then refining has to take place. Platforms and refineries costs to build are in the 10s of billoins and a lot of the technology used to build these might not even be produced hy American companies, most likely German or Japanese. These facilities do not create that many jobs per se unless driving a truck or pumping gas is the job your looking for, the investment is in the technology, the liquid is stored in containers and automated by flow pumps, etc. Hurricanes can destroy them and make the investment worthless too. Oil spills, drilling on our shelves we do not know the damage it causes even. Drilling in Anwar will not produce enough results to make it worth it, extracting it and then buildingt a pipeline to transport it, whats the purpose.

Green Energy innovation can provide us with 100% energy independance, the investment will provide more immediate results, ane the diversification of innovative energy production means our farmers and research into biotechnology will allow them to use land to grow plants that can be used for food, biofuel, feed, and they create oxygen and help reduce pollution. Solar power, wind power, tidal power, vibration energy harvesting, fuel cells, nanotechnology batteries, etc. Also, livestock biomass waste creates something like 20% of Green House Gases, but the waste can be processed by farms and turned into hydrogen gas and clean waste that can power their farms and make them energy independant.

This in cooperation with technologies the reduce our energy consumption and are more efficient can allow us to to have energy production in our neighborhoods, homes, cars, and buildings that use 50% less energy, provide cleaner, healthier and more comfortable environments.
