1. Their servers may just be down since so many people are probably
trying to look at their accounts. Overload?

3. Maybe but they have HUGH! capacity I'm series111!
Since I have stock in Jamaican aluminum, I wear a tinfoil hat...it's picking up signals saying the big Wall ST assholes are buying after the close in anticipation of a big rally with tomorrow's rescue. They don't want us little guys in the mix.

7. For me, it ain't the farm. We've finally got the farm paid for...
and no mortgages on the house or vehicles.

2. Hopefully just down for maintenance
But that is a scary sight when you are looking at(for) your money. My wife had her purse stolen about two years ago and when I pulled up our checking acct that's what I saw and damn near had a heartattack but it was a routine maintenance down time.

4. That would be scary...
Maintenance if they have a trouble maybe, but not routine at the regular time people look at their accounts after work. Normally this high volume period doesn't even slow the system down.

9. You'd think they could phrase it less alarmingly.
Was it too hard to spell "server temporarily unavailable"?

6. Yeah, I wonder what's going on there. When I first saw that I thought...
they shut down the markets or something crazy but I guess it's just a Scottrade thing.

I would appreciate it if they would keep the account info unavailable for the next 6 months or so. That might save me some stress. ;)

11. I can't login to my Capital One account to check my balance.
My Vanguard 401K is alright. My JEC stock went from 103 to 44 today.
I bought it at a 15% discount since I used to work there and I still paid around 70 a share for it.

I start a new job temp to hire next week making $3000 a less than the job I was just laid off from but I took it because I can absorb the loss and it's a foot in the door at a major corporation that some consider an evil empire. I consider myself fortunate. I have no paid time off but they offer bennies. I have to way their health care costs against my cobra payments.

12. For a while today when I went to get my statement from Smith Barney
I couldn't get on their site. Bet a lot of investment sites are getting lots of traffic today though I did not have a problem with the Edward Jones site.
