Why?
Over 31,000 Americans to Handwrite Next NIV Bible

A team of four will drive the 42-foot luxury motorhome, donated by Spartan Motors, more than 15,000-miles across the country over the next five months. Zondervan's Bible Across America tour will stop in 90 cities to allow over 31,000 Americans to handwrite a verse in their next NIV Bible edition.

Go Prayhound!

3. I actually think it is kind of cool (and could be expanded)
They could take the handwritten versions and have them online, basically an art project.

I would expand the idea though and get a health care bus to go across country and allow people to hand write their issues and drive the bus to capitol hill :)

4. Hell, if it gets 31,000 people to actually read the thing, more power to them.
A few might realize that they've been lied to for a long time.

6. Better question: who gives a shit?
Seriously.

How many churches are spending how much to do this and couldn't that money be better spent on other things, like, say, oh I don't know, helping poor people?

House the homeless?

Feed the hungry?

Now, I know there's an old saying about doing all those things, but can't remember where it came from...anyone know?

7. Well, if they're successful, they'll
have a hand-written Bible to show for it.

9. It's all part of the step back from technology
They are showing not only do we not need science, we don't need printing presses...
