How can we successfully dismantle the Military Industrial Complex?

I fear the only way would be militarily, by an outside force. Is there a more Gandhiesque approach?

1. I suggest that we make defense contracts

at cost only (not cost plus) with overruns borne my the company with the contract.

They will run away from government contracts.

2. Drastically reduce pentagon and black ops funding.

3. Don't give it money. Raise the price of oil to $1000 a barrel.

Make it too expensive to have ANY kind of warfare.

swords into plows and all that........put that $$ and creativity to work on solar and wind energy and on fixing things here at home....reassign troops to more of a US Peacecorps kind of duty......building gardens and repairing homes and schools --
