4. If the House procrastinates long enough
perhaps Paulson won't get it. Whoever Barack Obama designates will get it. And Main street will actually get the help it needs.

But I wish Obama had mentioned, if only obliquely, that Congress did the same monstrous bailout because of the Keating 5. Wasn't it $600 billion?

9. Not even close to $600 billion
Total cost to taxpayers was estimated at $160 billion. Considering that we have already committed $200 billion to Fanny and Freddy and $89 billion to AIG, this current crisis is going to be way more painful.
