You would think that anyone who was so "concerned" about the financial health of the nation would obviously want to the rid bailout proceedings of the stink of U.S. Chamber of Commerce lobbyists. Right?

4. And on the subject of loans -- why not make the money given to the Wall St. firms
be in the form of loans, with interest (and late fees, etc.)?

7. It would make more sense..
for the government to exchange Treasury bonds for standard corporate bonds - that would eliminate the immediate need for banks to be "recapitalized" by cutting out the middleman, and it's a lot less risky for the taxpayer.

2. Because pro-bailout == pro-corporate charity, that's why
And you NEED lobbyists if the corporations are to get their share.

3. Please correct me if I am wrong
but did I hear on the TV this a.m. that the Republicans in the Senate are looking at the "bailout" and want to reword it so that the fat cats will get tax breaks? Was this whole shebang rehearsed from the beginning to make us think they are doing something right?
