So let me get this straight - Bank don't trust each other right now, so the US taxpayer SHOULD?
Um, I don't get that. Can someone explain why the US government should trust banks when even their own peers won't?

It's in their best interest to do so.

But we have a very good reason not to trust them...

This is why the 'BIG Bush Bailout Plan' is a crock.

Why Democrats in the Senate are going to pass tonight the "New! Improved! BIG Bush Bailout Plan!" is beyond me.

This bailout is really about the taxpayer getting soaked to pay-off huge derivative contracts.
