Why are the Rethug wives having a klatch about Jackie's cheapness at the Justice Department?!1 Are they looking for tips on permission for being cheap with class?!1 Shaving pennies off their household budgets while their hubbies run barefoot through our cash?!1 Plus, I've always smeared Tweety as a Rethug, but thought that Kathleen was sensible-----but she picked Tweety, didn't she?!1

AWKWARD LINKS

NBC is under fire for having correspondent Andrea Mitchell cover the economic crisis because she's married to former Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan - but some people are also wondering about David Gregory, who has a show, "Race for the White House" on MSNBC. Gregory is married to Beth Wilkinson - who until a month ago was general counsel, executive vice president and corporate secretary for mortgage giant Fannie Mae, which is now being investigated by the FBI. We wonder how Gregory will cover the story if his wife is implicated in the Fannie Mae meltdown.

JACKIE O: CHEAPSKATE

JACQUELINE Bouvier Kennedy was a penny-pincher, according to Barry Landau, author of "The President's Table." Jackie O had her White House majordomo serve expensive bottles of wine for the first course, but replace the empty bottles with a cheaper wine for the second course, Landau told a luncheon at the Justice Dept. in Washington, DC, the other day. "Jackie believed her guests wouldn't know the difference," said Landau, and she was right. "The elusive former first lady kept two sets of books - one for her own records, and one for JFK, who was always keeping an eye not to appear too rich." The lunch was hosted by New Yorker Susan Mukasey, wife of Attorney General Michael Mukasey, for 40 friends including Anna (wife of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben) Bernanke, Mary (wife of Sen. Jim) Bunning, Jane (wife of Supreme Court Chief Justice John) Roberts, and Kathleen (wife of Chris) Matthews.

2. Well, there's talk that NewsCorp/Faux uses the NYP's Page Six to gig Keith, at least
While many of us here regard Tweety and GREGORY as Rethug shills, wingnuts tend to think they are Libs. So Page Six might be attempting to discredit GREGORY, who, as I say, doesn't need much discrediting around here. A few years ago he seemed like a Lite Dan RATHER in questioning Shrub and Scotty, but ever since he danced with KKKarl, and his admitting he and KKKarl are friends, he has lost an edge.

4. Beth Wilkinson
MSNBC's David Gregory's wife was right in the thick of the crap at Fannie since 2005 Beth Wilkinson Beth A. Wilkinson was Fannie Mae's executive vice president - general counsel and corporate secretary. She reports directly to the chief executive officer. Wilkinson has oversight and management responsibility for all legal issues, strategies, services and resources. Additionally, she serves as the business-oriented, senior legal advisor to the board of directors, chief executive officer, and members of the senior management team.

6. Apparently the "C", in DC, stands for conflict-of-interest
It's quite an incestuous place, isn't it?
