I Spent $5000.00 Today...The Economy Is Great....Oh Yah!!!!

........My wife and I spent 5K today on new furnishing for our new home in Mississippi, we donated our old furniture to a local thrift store near Seattle that employees homeless people and recovering addicts because it was going to cost more to ship it then to replace it and we had some extra equity.

Honestly I am not trying to be boastful or smarty pants. The sales clerks were extremely happy to help us out and offer us extra items at no charge to get us to spend a little more.....the bad part was when we asked the sales clerk how business has been recently, she said usually Sat,Sun the parking lot outside is mostly full but she said lately there have been more employee cars than customers.....she said they expect a long term impact until people have more availability to credit and cash to spend....until then they are going to continue to lower prices as much as they can to draw people but she said there is a limit.....

1. People shouldn't be buying things on credit
If they don't have the money for it, they should just wait until they have saved up for 'it' ~ whatever 'it' is. Otherwise, they're paying waaaaaaaaaay more for something than everybody else who can buy it outright, with cash! No wonder some people can't get ahead. The interest is slaughtering them! Credit can be a good tool in certain cases (like a fixed rate mortgage for 15-30 years) where you make a 13th payment every year and cut 10 YEARS off of your mortgage OR an evil yoke that sucks the life-blood outta you and your family.

Credit is not "all that and a cookie" that people have been (b)led to believe for so long.

Goodwill a "slightly used garment."

I think there are store owners who are trying to do some good things out there to help people and help their business at the same time.
