Ah what kind of bullcrap is this? The Senate has no right to vote on a failed House bill...

What is he trying to do - pull a stunt to get people to go along with this?

This smells. This is NOT how real Democrats operate....

Reid: Senate Will Vote on Bailout
By Tim Taylor

September 30, 2008, 11:00 a.m.

One day after the House voted down the financial rescue plan, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pledged to have a vote on a bailout proposal in the near future.

Reid on Tuesday did not say when the Senate would move to the bailout bill or what it might look like in order to attract more support from House Republicans, stating only that a vote will happen.

“The blame game needs to end. ... We need to move on to doing what’s right for our country,” Reid said in his opening remarks on the Senate floor.

8. Here's what they can do
Vote in the Senate on the same bill that was killed in the House and pass it.

Then it goes to the House where it is amended to meet objections of some Dems and Repubs, then pass it there.

Then it would be adopted with amendments by agreement by a House-Senate Conference Committee, thereby avoiding another vote in the Senate, who would be free to go home on recess to campaign right after they vote on Thursday.

9. Just heard on C-Span.... Money from This Bill goes to Bank of China
I know I am Naive.. but why can't they stop foreclosures and freeze adjustable rate mortgages at their current levels, while they re-negotiate these mortgages so people can save their homes? This seems like it would be simple enough.... and it wouldn't cost $700 Billion? I also heard panel on C-Span say that $700 Billion would pay for health Care for every Man, Woman and Child three times over. Our CONgress is not giving us all the facts.
