The USA deserves the coming collapse.
Anybody that has read the Shock Doctrine already knows this.

Why should we escape the same fate that we hand delivered to so many nations around the world ?

Chile, Indonesia, Argentina, Brazil, ect ..... All victims of Milton Friedmans Chicago School of Economics...Unregulated free trade.

We forced this agenda on many nations who were ruined by it, why should the culprit get to escape the same fate ?

Sorry, but we deserve what is coming.

2. Nobody deserves to starve to death like people in Latin America starved to death under pro-US policy
Just because people in Africa, Latin America, the former Soviet Republics, the Middle East, and the Far East suffered under the scourge of Neoliberalism and privatization doesn't mean more people have to suffer a similar fate.

The point is to get off the cycle of destruction, not continue it further. However, I do understand the visceral reaction to see the US brought to her knees and taught a lesson in humility but not if it means more human suffering.

3. "doesn't mean more people have to suffer a similar fate."
Just one last group needs to suffer. The group that brought the suffering upon all the rest.

It needs to happen.

5. Why?
Out of some twisted idea of vengeance? Some sense of payback? You're suffering from the same blindness that those who perpetrated those horrors suffered from, the inability to see the individual. Did all the people in the US perpetrate those acts? No, it was a select few, in government, in business, in academia. Why not serve selective, targeted justice upon the guilty, rather than blind, rampaging vengeance on the innocent.

8. "No, it was a select few, in government,"
In a dictatorship your post would make sense.

We voted on our leaders, and when they committed these crimes, we voted them back in.

To act as if the people are innocent is absurd.

10. We who, white man?
Nobody voted for Thomas Friedman. Millions didn't vote for Nixon, and millions more weren't even alive to vote for him. Nobody voted the corporations into power. Again, you are using a chain saw for justice when a scalpel is required.

people in this country do not deserve to be ruined. I don't deserve it. My kids don't deserve it. I'm sorry but I'm not willing to jump for joy at our gloomy economy to satisfy the blood lust of those who don't like us much.

Too late. Nations have been destroyed in our name.

Why don't you believe in consequences ? We have ruined nations by forcing unregulated free tade on them ...tell me why we should get to escape this fate ?

17. I don't buy that anyone deserves to be hurt.
But certainly the vast majority of Americans have brought this on themselves. And that can make it harder to muster empathy, no doubt. But compassion must include sympathy for the ignorant and self-destructive as well as the fully innocent.

Try having sympathy for someone like George Bush despite his crimes. It won't change anything in the external world, but it will make you a happier person.

21. WE didn't vote for these economics, did we?
Friend, WE didn't vote for Friedman economics, did we? I despise unregulated free trade on fairness and decency grounds. It kills local businesses, transfers power and money to the corporations and their rich bosses, and forces all of us to live with the consequences.

But because the governments of a nation did such things, does that mean the people should suffer? No. It means that we need to encourage the growth of local business, and in the USA's case to give a great big "fuck you" to the companies that led this, and to their buddies in Red China.

22. Ummm...
"But because the governments of a nation did such things, does that mean the people should suffer?"

Of course not. But thats not what happens in reality. In reality the USA forces their ways on a nation and brings it to their knees.
