"Shrill"
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 04:23 PM by Husb2Sparkly
I'm expecting that to be the operative word on Thursday. Puckhead's been at Veep Camp learning to be tough in the way her handlers define it. They don't have time to get to know her. They just gotta go with what they got. And they ain't got nuttin'.

So I'm imagining about now she's feeling some really serious pressure to perform. Her head is cracked, which will stop it from exploding since the cracks let the pressure bleed off a little. But by Thursday, she's gonna be tighter than the horsetail on a Stradivarius.

They've schooled her that "I'll bring an answer tooya" is simply not an option. That means she answers everything, including shit about which she may not possess the first clue.

That pressure has to be let off somehow.

I'm thinking, with her voice not sounding all that endearing to start with, and with her inability to make coherent sentences from a string of talking points (some call this 'word salad'), "shrill" will be the result.

Actual or perceived, it doesn't matter.

"Shrill"

And it won't be well received.

Edit to explain my use of the word "shrill" ....... it is often a sexist slur against a woman with whom one has an issue. There are, however, times when the word is right and appropriate. What I have seen of her is that she does, indeed, get (textbook) shrill (high pitched and piercing) when pressured. And that is precisely what I am suggesting.

1. Shrill is a term too often used for women whether they are smart
or not.

8. It is most often sexist. I agree. But there are times when it is deserved.
I am suggesting this will be one of those times.

9. I'm going to have to agree with you
on that. It is a word that springs to mind listening to her.

6. I've seen Biden mad
In particular, I remember his chairing a committee meeting about deficiencies in body armor for the troops in Iraq (including his son). The witness was giving the usual administration nonsense about not having the money, not realizing that the troops would need armor in a war zone, and yadda, yadda, yadda. Biden listened for about as long as he could stand it, then dressed down the poor sap until there was nothing but a little puddle of flop sweat behind the microphone. I think Palin would be well advised not to try to goad or bait Biden, and stick to the questions and issues at hand. If she strays into criticism of Biden, I think she’ll buy more trouble than a little bit.

3. My guess is that she is being trained in a series of attacks on Obama.
Let's say she is asked a question about Afghanistan. Her response will be a canned attack about Obama's lack of foreign policy experience and the claim that McCain "knows how to win a war." It doesn't matter if that is actually responsive to the question about Afghanistan. It's the only way she can possibly try to get through it, because there's no way she can learn the substance of the possible debate questions.

Like I do when certain Republican talking heads are on the shows. It's a survival technique that works every time.

I haven't heard it put better.

Everyone keeps talking about how she did well in the debates as mayor and governor.

Well, they were seated and from the clip I saw on YouTube it was very calm and soothing atmosphere.

Last Friday, when the two guys were up on stage, I thought to myself, how is she going to stand on that stage, with lights glaring at her, the audience is silent and in total darkness and she has to talk for 90 minutes. Oh and not to mention the fact that 50 million people and every leader in the world is watching.....no pressure, Sarah, just be more like yourself.

I think there is 50/50 chance that she could pass out.

16. Add to that the pressure of knowing way down deep inside that she is ......
.... pathetically unqualified for the job and that's pressure that really could cause her to have a breakdown on stage.

She **has** to know she's in the deep end of the pool without her water wings.

15. She could opt for an emergency apendectomy, or something. I agree that
"shrill" suits her. That hideous grating voice and accent practically make my ears bleed. That said, I'll be here with other, posting on the ***official debate thread***.
