the credit market is still frozen. If this goes on into next week I think more banks will fail.

11. I was furious the day that piece of shit came out
It was a giveaway, no oversight, no mechanism to pay for it other than increasing the national debt and crashing the dollar, and had no plan to keep banks from buying more high yield high risk and essentially worthless paper from hedge funds and doing it all over again.

Just who the fuck did Paulson think he was kidding? It was a naked cash grab, a blank check to the last people who should ever be given one. It was an attempt to cripple an incoming government.

In short, it was a dog.

The Democrats tried to give it a flea bath and sneak it past the pubbies, but no go.

There will eventually need to be a bailout of some sort, I'm convinced of that. Banks just have too much worthless junk on their balance sheets. However, if the past week has shown me anything, I don't want this Congress having anything to do with it.
