Early Fall blooms: Obama yard signs are bursting out all over my neighborhood.
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 08:48 AM by Buzz Clik
Our neighborhood tends to be political, and yard signs are not rare. But, we're up to about 15 Obama signs, most of which are displayed proudly next to a sign supporting the local candidate for state rep. And he just happens to be a Republican! No McCain signs to be found anywhere.

My little community tends to be a Dem enclave in the middle of a bright red county in Indiana, but this is unprecedented.

Oh, and last week, I gave a big pat on the back to an undergrad who was running the voter registration table in front a busy building on campus. His Obama logo was displayed proudly for all to see.

1. I'm not seeing too many Obama signs here
but my area is so heavily Democratic that it's pretty much a given.

Udall signs are springing up like mushrooms, though.

2. I wonder how they got their signs...
I have people screaming for them in my little red Indiana town and I can't get any for them. I've been waiting for my sign from the campaign as a gift for a donationfor over 3 weeks now and haven't received it yet. You WOULD see tons of support here but we can't get the signs for some reason and people are upset.

3. on the Obama website
yesterday it said that the people that were donating money to the site were going to receive their signs by no later than 10/17. My mom ordered one over a month ago and still hasn't seen hers. We went to see Joe speak in Va. 2 weeks ago and were able to purchase some their that the UMWA people were selling. At last check, our local hq still didn't have any. Our local hq was late getting open because they had air conditioning problems. It is a little rinkydink store in the old part of time. Meanwhile, the repugs have a nice big building on a busy 4 lane road in the middle of town. This of course, is in the red state of Tennessee. But guess what? I have not seen but 1 McCain sticker and have seen several Obama's. Karma.

8. We can't get them either (Philly suburbs). We were told that the signs were warehoused...
... in Texas where they were hit by Ike.

5. I'm seeing a lot more signs, but then Obama is supposed to be here on Wednesday.
Also, the local Obama headquarters picked up 1000 Obama/Biden yard signs from Madison on Saturday.

I keep my yard sign on my bike:

6. I got my yard sign on Saturday...In PLANO TEXAS
whoo hoo!

Nice lady was going door to door canvassing for Obama, I'm outside painting the house. I saw Obama flyers in her hand and told her not to waste them on me, I'm all in for him. We chatted and I asked if the local office had any yard signs ( she has a huge one down the street in front of her house ) and they are out, but she had one in her car she gave me.

She said it's hard to get stuff down here in Texas as national headquarters doesn't think we will go blue, but we are going to try anyway!

Sweetness!

7. My Ohio community is overtaken by McCain signs....
It's a small, rich community (I'm the village pauper). I've seen only two Obama signs here. One is in a friend's yard (it's one of those BIG signs). He said it was pulled down twice in the first handful of days he had it there. I told him to smear dog poop on the back of the sign, around the edges, so anyone grabbing it gets a free gift.
